Assistive Seating

Many times a person may need help to get in or out of a vehicle, but they do not need a wheelchair lift. In these cases we often find that one of the several assistive seats we offer at Mobility Plus will meet the customer's need. These seats can help a partially ambulatory patient or even a wheelchair bound person transfer onto the vehicle seat and then into the vehicle with little effort.
The Braun Companion Seat works in most domestic mini vans and extends out of the van to allow for easier entrance into the front passenger position.

The Bruno Turny seat base works in similar fashion to the Companion Seat, however it can be installed in a large variety of vehicles as well as in several locations in most mini vans. Plus, with its vertical movement once out of the door way, the Turny can lower the seat down to the patients wheelchair height for easy transfer.

In certain passenger car applications you also have the options of two different manual swivel seat bases like the one shown here. The Braun Mobility Seat and the Bruno Turnout base each fit a number cars and in some vehicles these can be used on the driver's side.
For the ultimate in assistive seat technology, the Bruno Turny and Turnout bases can be used in conjunction with Bruno's Carony wheelchair base. With the correct vehicle, this combination will allow for the patient to remain in the same seat whether in the vehicle or on the wheelchair base.
Transfer Seating
For wheelchair bound persons who wish to use a lift in a van but want to drive and be independent, 6-way transfer seat bases can be the best solution. These bases are electrically operated and they position the vehicle seat in a way to accommodate easier transfer to the driving position from the wheelchair.
